Great sites for freelancers:
I’m a freelance transcriptionist (betcha never heard of such a thing), and these are some of the sites I use to get work. It’s pretty groovy. If you have a skill you can freelance with (writing, programming, data entry, website building, etc.), I’d check these out. Most sites have a limit on how many jobs you can bid on per week or per month unless you sign up for the “premium package” which, of course, have fees attached.

oDesk - This one is free for providers (freelancers) because the people seeking workers pay all the fees. This is my favorite.
LiveWork - This is a beta site so there’s not much work here yet.

I’m able to bring in a $200-$300 each month just by doing a few projects a month.
